FrogFind is a search engine built for vintage computers. When you enter a search term, your browser does not connect directly to major search engines. Instead, our server receives your request and forwards the raw search term to third-party APIs (e.g., Google Custom Search, Brave Search, or DuckDuckGo).
Your IP address is not transmitted to Google, Brave, or DuckDuckGo during this process. However, please note that the search term you enter is sent to these US-based companies. Therefore, please do not enter personal data (such as your name or address) into the search field.
To protect this website from bots, spam, and hacker attacks, we use a custom security system. The following data is processed temporarily:
This data is used to block your IP address for a few minutes (rate limiting) if too many requests (spam) or illegal entries are detected. For unusual or very old browsers, the User-Agent is stored in a local text file (log file) on our server to improve system compatibility. The legal basis for this is our legitimate interest (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR) in a secure and trouble-free operation.
FrogFind features public leaderboards. We store how often a specific word was searched and which browser was used. These counts in our database are completely anonymous. We never link search terms or browser statistics to your IP address.
Great news for retro fans: FrogFind uses no cookies, no Google Analytics, no ad trackers, and no social media plugins. Session validation for bot defense relies entirely on server-side tokens that do not store any data on your device.
Our website contains a link to "Ko-fi" to help support server costs. This is a purely external link. Only when you click the button will you be redirected to Ko-fi, at which point their privacy policy applies.
Under applicable statutory provisions, you have the right to free information about your stored personal data, its origin and recipients, and the purpose of the data processing at any time, as well as a right to correct, block, or delete this data. However, since we do not permanently link IP addresses to search profiles (except in short-term security logs), we cannot assign specific search queries to individuals retroactively anyway.
